CWEE is completing the transition of our employment support programs to an online, widely accessible format and brining on new talent to support our mission. We are excited to announce four new talented professionals joining our staff!

It’s an exciting time for our organization as new professionals join CWEE’s talented staff team. They come on board at a crucial time, as the recession continues and more and more displaced workers need CWEE’s support to start or transition their careers.

Don MacKenzie, a longtime member of the CWEE Board of Directors and a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, colleague, and friend, recently passed on. The CWEE family has been mourning his loss and reflecting on Don’s remarkable impact on our organization and those who knew and loved him.

Comcast’s first gathering of Internet Essentials partners generates big ideas to drive impact at an opportune time CWEE has long understood the value of Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, the nation’s largest broadband adoption program for low-income households.

Another bill’s passage was cause for celebration this month. SB20-029 was signed by Governor Jared Polis and will provide a $500 one-time payment to each family who receives basic cash assistance through Colorado Works and county-administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs.

Over the past three months, CWEE has been working to adjust our program operations to align with our strategic plan and to meet the increased need for career readiness training caused by the recession and COVID-19.

CWEE’s VP of external affairs, Stephanie Pacheco-Davidson, will serve on Denver’s Racial Equity Council to help formulate a plan and recommendations that promote equitable and inclusive outcomes as the city navigates the COVID-19 pandemic.
