Meredith Sherritt – Volunteer of the Day
It’s #NationalVolunteersWeek!
In 2022, CWEE is celebrating 40 years of building confidence, community, and careers and we could not have reached this milestone without the support of our volunteers. April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and one of the ways we are celebrating is by featuring a Volunteer of the Day each day this week.
Today, we recognize CWEE Mock Interviewer, Meredith Sherritt.
Meredith has been a long-time CWEE volunteer and has been an excellent champion for all of our participants. Through Meredith’s dedication to coaching, she has cemented herself as one of our volunteer program’s go-to mock interviewers whenever we have special requests. She consistently steps in to perform mock interviews last minute and she has been celebrated by our participants as someone who is not only supremely kind but incredibly helpful to their professional development.

What led you to Volunteer with CWEE?
What attracted me to CWEE was their use of skills training to empower job seekers to be self-sufficient and pursue their goals. You can read every book on how to have a strong resume or become a great interviewee, but you really won’t become successful and feel confident until you practice. CWEE gives participants the chance to do just that in a safe and encouraging environment which is invaluable.
What is your favorite part about volunteering with CWEE?
There are so many talented participants and alumni I have met through the program and my favorite part has been hearing their stories. It is amazing that despite our unique experiences and representing all different industries how much we all have in common. Hope and encouragement are contagious and I am grateful to do my part in sharing that with others as various mentors, colleagues and friends have done with me throughout my career.
CWEE’s career preparation volunteer opportunities have a lasting impact on our participants. Mock interviews help CWEE participants gain professional interview experience and apply the skills they are learning. Thank you, Meredith, from all of us for all that you do; we appreciate you!
