Expanding Trauma-Informed Mental Health Support for Career Seekers
With support from Denver voters and the Caring for Denver Foundation, CWEE will expand our trauma-informed mental health services for low-income job seekers and their families.
Providing access to mental health counseling is core to CWEE’s approach to workforce development, and we have a full-time mental health clinician on our staff. The new funding will allow CWEE to add another experienced clinician to our team, develop a peer support program, and extend mental health counseling to the family members of our career seekers.
Caring for Denver Foundation was established following voters’ approval of a ballot measure in 2018 to increase funding for mental health services and substance misuse treatment for city residents. Caring for Denver Foundation recently announced $14.6 million in investments in local nonprofits that are making it easier for people to access the support they need.
