At the 6-Month Mark, Seeing the Magic of CWEE
Dear Friends, It’s been five months since I joined CWEE as the organization’s new CEO. I’m proud to report that, together with the team, I’ve hit the ground running and several exciting projects are already underway.
I’m excited to share this update with you. But first I want to thank the entire CWEE community for helping me and my family feel so welcomed and supported as we adjust to life in Denver.
My focus so far has been on getting to know our team and observing the magic of CWEE. I’ve done this by participating in CWEE’s on-site program. My takeaway? Anyone will benefit from the personal transformation that happens at CWEE every day.
From gaining skills to better balance competing demands, to learning to advocate for yourself and your family, CWEE is empowering. Participants learn to succeed in careers but also how to tap their natural strengths to create positive experiences for themselves and their children. The result is more self-supporting families, with each member able to achieve their potential.
CWEE’s transformative impact is powered by an incredible team, and since last November, CWEE has welcomed two new Case Managers, an Advocacy Coordinator and a Community Program Specialist.
I have also been focused on growing the CWEE Board of Directors. In the coming weeks, CWEE will announce a diverse slate of new members. Each member brings skills and networks that help CWEE push our thinking, deepen our many longstanding partnerships, and help us engage new collaborators.
As CWEE grows, I would like to recognize our strong partnerships with Arapahoe County and Denver County. Working closely with our partners in Arapahoe and Denver, we look forward to continuing to support families, strengthen the local labor force and contribute to the economic vibrancy of our region.
With sights set on the next chapter of CWEE’s impact, we are preparing for a strategic planning process this summer. This month we will release an RFP to identify a facilitation partner that can help CWEE define a forward-looking plan that will enable us to contribute to the labor market in innovative ways and continue to drive transformation, equity and inclusion for families.
Stay tuned to our e-newsletter – newly named The CWEE Current – for regular updates. In the meantime, I look forward to continuing to get to know this remarkable community of supporters and partners.
Please feel free to reach out to me personally; my contact information is below. I welcome your call, email or an in-person chat.
Thank you for your support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Katy Hamilton, CEO
