Katy Hamilton

Chief Executive Officer

Throughout her career, Katy’s work has focused on education, workforce development, and economic mobility. Since joining CWEE in November 2018, she has focused on establishing a culture of continuous learning and collaboration, diversifying the CWEE Board of Directors, and advancing new and innovative partnerships. Her experience working across sectors has enabled her to bring new thinking and strategic visioning to CWEE.

Most recently, Katy led the national expansion of Skillful, an initiative of the New York City based Markle Foundation focused on creating a skills-based labor market. Katy joined Markle in 2015 and was integral in designing and launching Skillful leveraging data and insights to inform program design and iteration. She played a key role in shaping the Rework America Task Force which focuses heavily on opportunities surrounding the future of work. Her contributions at the Markle Foundation led to the Governor’s Coaching Corps, a leadership development program for front-line human service and workforce professionals.

Before joining Markle, Katy was Vice President of Education & Workforce at the Partnership for New York City. While at the Partnership, Katy was loaned to the NYC Department of Education to liaise between the private-sector and career and technical education schools to ensure programming was demand-driven and adequately resourced. She started her career in the Office of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius where she served as Legislative Liaison and Director of Policy.

Katy holds a Masters in International Politics from the University of Melbourne, Australia and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Christian University. She lives in Edgewater with her husband and son. Katy can be reached at khamilton@cwee.org.
