Volunteer Spotlight

Val Peake

CWEE’s Employment Services team would like to thank Val Peake for being a valued internship partner throughout her tenure as the Medication Administration Program Coordinator and CMS State Training Coordinator at the State of Colorado – Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services. Val has been an exemplary partner, offering valuable insight and countless recommendations for CWEE participants eager to learn and build upon their administrative knowledge. Val took a supportive and understanding approach while working with CWEE interns, actively helping with skill building and job searching techniques, often recommending positions with the State and providing references when able. This support led to employment and opened the door to a variety of opportunities for the participants who worked closely with Val.

Val, your expertise and mentorship will be sorely missed here at CWEE! We wish you the best of luck on your next employment venture. Thank you for making the State of Colorado – Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services a valued internship partner!

Career Exploration Tour

Hyatt Regency Denver

CWEE staff and participants had the opportunity to explore careers in the hospitality industry thanks to our partner, Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. Participants and members of CWEE’s employment services team enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the Hyatt and learned about the various positions that exist to not only be one of Denver’s popular destinations for both locals and visitors, but also one of Fortune 100’s Best Companies to Work for in 2017. Attendees also had a private Q & A session with key members of Hyatt’s team who shared their career paths, why they enjoy being a part of the culture at Hyatt and insider information on Hyatt’s application process. Thanks to partners like Hyatt, CWEE is able to provide career seekers opportunities to explore career options that help guide their decisions in choosing their next step towards their career path.

CWEE offers a variety of opportunities for individuals and companies to support Colorado’s workforce. Below are ways you can get involved individually or bring a team to help CWEE.

First Impressions Boutique

CWEE’s on-site boutique provides participants and alumni, both men and women, with current business casual and business professional attire.  The boutique not only provides a valuable service to our participants and alumni, but also builds their self-esteem and gives them pride in their appearance so they may obtain long-term employment.

If you would like to sort donations and ensure that our boutique stays organized and current, please contact Erinn Chambers at 303-892-8444 or echambers@cwee.org
