Program Assistant

Title: Program Assistant

Position Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $32,000 - $35,000

Reports to: Director of Operations and Administration

We are advocates on many levels – from our work on poverty and education issues to our core programs and services – we work tirelessly on behalf of those we serve. CWEE’s holistic model is comprised of three key phases – preparing for employment, finding employment, and keeping employment.



The Administrative Support Specialist supports the overall organization in daily operations and provision of services to CWEE participants. This position is for an enthusiastic, passionate and self-directed individual with strong communication, organizational and database skills.  The Support Specialist works across all program teams and areas, assisting participants, staff, community members, employers, and partners.  He/she also plays a key role in the organization through effective data collection and management.



  • Offer a wide variety of high-quality administrative support to the organization
  • Deliver excellent customer service to participants and community members
  • Manage CiviCore database, including entering data, creating reports, and customizing database
  • Organize and lead participant orientation, including reminder calls, document prep and facilitation
  • Accurately and regularly organize and file paperwork
  • Provide support to Receptionist and fill in this position as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree and equivalent experience
  • Two years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Driver’s license, reliable vehicle and willingness to run scheduled errands
  • Ability to work in an inclusive environment with diverse, economically disadvantaged populations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants and staff in a team environment
  • Ability to model professional dress and workplace conduct
  • Flexible, able to problem-solve and innovate solutions
  • Motivated and able to seek out and complete projects
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to take direction from supervisor and then work independently to complete tasks.
  • Demonstrated skill and interest in accurate, efficient data entry
  • Proficient use of computer and related software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, web-bases and databases)
  • Quick learner with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent follow-through on tasks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Reliable and punctual
