Through established partnerships with diverse industry leaders, CWEE is able to deliver a job readiness program that is reflective of today’s workplace. Industry leaders serve on our Employer Advisory Council (EAC).
EAC Purpose: Work interdependently to support CWEE in preparing participants and alumni for today’s workforce through regularly scheduled meetings that evaluate the program curriculum, employment opportunities and community partnerships.
EAC Mission: Provide opportunities for participants to receive relevant workforce development experiences that can be applied to promote confidence building, customized skills training and career advancement for participants.

Director of Recruitment
Mark Genkinger is the Director of Recruitment at Denver Health and has been actively involved with the Greater Metro Denver Healthcare Industry Partnership for the last four years. Previously, Mark held HR positions in the natural gas, utilities, financial services, and medical device industries. Mark sits on the advisory board for the Center for Work Education and Employment (CWEE) and was recently on the Executive Board of the Denver Workforce Development Board, chairing the business sector committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Account Development Manager
Lauren is an Account Development Manager at Randstad. She graduated from Illinois State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management with a minor in Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies. She started at Randstad as a Recruiter in Bloomington, Illinois in February of 2017 and transferred to Randstad's Denver Office & Administration branch as an Account Manager in December 2017. Lauren is responsible for recruiting, managing, and placing qualified candidates into job openings including entry level to advanced lever customer service, call centers, office support, data entry, operations, administration, management, and more.
Aaron is the Colorado Manager at LinkedIn and is responsible for building relationships, partnerships, and expanding the reach and accessibility of LinkedIn’s tools in the state. As part of LinkedIn’s vision to create economic opportunity, Aaron is helping to build the densest part of the Economic Graph beginning with the Skillful initiative; a project that will connect policymakers, educators, employers, and job seekers in an effort to close the “skills gap” in Colorado. A life-long Colorado resident, Aaron graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Colorado Denver and has a background in local policy and politics.
Melissa "Mel" Hooks

Melissa “Mel” Hooks joined Keybank in 2006 and is currently Assistant Vice President and Branch manager at the KeyBank South Tower location. During Mel’s tenure with Keybank, one of her passions has been the Keybank Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1969 and funded by KeyCorp. The Foundation’s mission is to support organizations and program to prepare individuals for thriving futures and is advanced through three funding principals - Neighbors, Education and Workforce as well as community service. Since 2010, Mel has been the Bank On liaison and displays her passion by working with retail employees to understand the importance of helping clients that are both under-banked and under-served. In this role, Mel is dedicated to promoting financial education for customers to help them understand the banking environment. This has been pivotal in helping customers avoid the common mistakes that often lead to mistrust in banking institutions. This understanding has proven pivotal in helping customer strive financially.
Mel has served on the Key4Women Board, Center for African American Health Committee for Destination Health Run/Walk, Bank On Committee, (CWEE) Center for Work Education and Employment Employer Advisory Council Member. Mel was named 2014 Aurora Business Woman of the Year for outstanding community leadership.
Talent Acquisition Manager
Graebel Companies, Inc.
Catherine Pierce is a Talent Acquisition Manager at Graebel Companies, Inc., and works to find the best global mobility talent for Graebel’s domestic US offices. Previously, Catherine has held positions in commercial property management, operations, IT, and HR. She has led trainings on resume writing, interviewing, and networking skills. Catherine is looking forward to participating in CWEE’s Employer Advisory Council as well as working with CWEE’s participants regarding resume review and mock interviews.

Christian Living Communities
Jan Roth serves as Chief Talent Officer for Christian Living Communities. Ms. Roth has worked at Christian Living Communities in a variety of job functions including Food Service Director, Payroll Supervisor and Board Secretary. She has led the Human Resource Department since 1991 and currently provides HR oversight for over 600 team members. Ms. Roth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Dynamics with a minor in Psychology from Colorado State University and is certified as a SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resource Management and a SHRM-SCP, Senior Certified Professional. Her team has won several awards for innovative HR best practices including the Colorado Dept of Labor Top Safety Award, Mountain States Employers Council Best Practices in Health Insurance Management and CWEE’s Employer of the Year. She was a speaker at the 2016 Leading Age Convention and leads an HR Networking group made up of colleagues in the Senior Services Profession.

Joe Scancarello, President of the Accounting & Business School of the Rockies. Joe has dedicated his entire career to transforming and improving students’ lives through career training and employment placement. He is a proud to be a member of CWEE’s Employer Advisor Committee and thoroughly enjoys working with CWEE participants with mock interviewers in preparation for their career search.
Kelly Specian is the Market Manager for Randstad, Manufacturing and Logistics and manages a branch that connects the most qualified candidates to job openings with factories and warehouse across Denver. Kelly joined the Employer Advisory Council at CWEE in 2015 and has led many participant presentations on topics such as interviewing styles, assessments and techniques on how to best be presented in an interview.

BJ Tindall, Senior Manager, Sourcing at 24-7 Intouch is proud to be a member of the CWEE Employer Advisory Council. She has over 20 years experience in Operations, Training, HR and Recruiting. She has a strong passion in building the community and breaking the cycle many fall into. BJ is in alignment with CWEE's goals to provide sustainable work for those who have encoutered obstacles, have barriers or simply need that first start. She is an active member of MDHI and the Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Development Board. BJ also works closely with the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to help place homeless vets, with Mile High United Way, Bridging the Gap, to help those transitioning out of foster care to attain gainful employment and works with a variety of other local organizations.
