Title: Career Retention Specialist

Position Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Manager of Employment Services

Salary: $40,000 - $42,000/DOE

Benefits: Full benefits including three weeks of vacation, every other Friday off, paid health days, paid family leave, retirement, health insurance, and more.

The Career Retention Specialist (CRS) provides direct service with a trauma-informed approach to support employment retention and career advancement to CWEE program participants and alumni. This individual works with employers to create successful transitions into employment for CWEE’s career seekers and provides support to participants in maintaining employment and the pursuit of career advancement opportunities. The CRS is responsible for administrative and data collection and entry of employment outcomes and reports and works across the organization to connect participants to resources.



  • Persistent outreach to employers to inquire about the employment status and performance of CWEE’s program participants and alumni.
  • Provide outreach and support to CWEE’s program participants who gain employment.
  • Help participants retain employment by discussing concerns and providing referrals for internal and external resources.
  • Contribute to the achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual employment related goals.
  • Track and highlight participant activities, progress and results using CWEE’s client management and outcome tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel to/from offsite meetings and events within the metro Denver area.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in human services, human resources, workforce development or related setting.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • One (1) year providing vocational and employment services, preferred.
  • Experience working or volunteering at a non-profit organization or educational institution, preferred.
  • Excellent business writing, public speaking and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to model professional dress and workplace conduct.
  • Deadline oriented with strong ability to follow through on tasks with little supervision.
  • Strong computer skills including web-based databases, internet research and proficient with Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of outbound calls with enthusiasm and poise.
